If you feel like sailing from Panama to Cartagena through San Blas islands (or the other way), don't go with CAPTAIN DOUG, on sailing ship SAMSARA, unless you want to live a very special adventure, full of stress, arguments, and rely-on-yourself-driving-the-boat-while-he's-sleeping...
He is a nice person and a good sailor, BUT such a bad captain!!!! His boat is on way to become a wreck, everything is falling down, is half broken. That's true we got big waves and hard weather, but Captain Doug forgot to secure his own stuff! We lost carpets, mattress, buckets, wooden boards, half the dingy into the water...
We had to cook for every meal, because this old wolf never eat unless you give him a full plate. And he did not tell you that it can be hard to cook when waves are too big. I was fortunate I thought about it! You cannot cook, you don't eat, is one of is mottoes..
However, this is not the worst...
Captain Doug seems to really like his GPS, new computer sailing program and the boat motor, so that he spent most of his time in the cabin, watching his things, trafficking while always sipping his glass(es) of rum. During this time, we were driving the boat, fighting with enormous waves DAYS and NIGHTS... It was the first time of our lives, a good method to learn quickly! We did the quarters as sailors do during the whole night while our reliable Captain was quietly sleeping.
Now you know. If you still want to go with Captain Doug, up to you !!!!
